Budget smartphones are starting to get really good. You no longer need to spend $800 to get a good phone.
The Moto G7 has been highly reviewed and for under $300 has been known as a budget phone to beat, but for a limited time, the Moto G7 is on sale for $269.99. If you select “activate today” and you activate on a major carrier like AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile, you can get the phone for $219.99. Just keep in mind that the extra $50 discount will come with a carrier activation fee (which is still worth it!). If you are with Sprint they offer an even bigger discount, so keep that in mind too! The phone is also on sale at Amazon as well!
The Moto G7 works on all major carriers in the U.S, it has the newest Android software in Android 9.0, and for under $300 it will give you good performance.
With a budget phone comes some restrictions. The phone doesn’t have NFC for Google Pay, camera quality is OKAY (not great, but that is expected at this price range), and the phone is only splash-proof (not waterproof).
But the Moto G7 gets all the basics right. It has good performance, decent battery life, and a decent screen all for under $300.
If you’re hanging on to an old dinosaur of a phone like the Galaxy S5, this would be a good upgrade for you at a decent price.
