LG Stylo 5 now available at Metro by T-Mobile, free for new lines (as long as you port)

The LG Stylo 5

The LG Stylo 5 is now available at Metro by T-Mobile!

No, the LG Stylo 5 isn’t available at T-Mobile yet, but Metro, which is T-Mobile’s prepaid brand, but it is available for Metro!

The LG Stylo 5 releasing for Metro has the same specs as the Cricket and Boost version, which you can find here. This means you will get the same Snapdragon 450 from the LG Stylo 4, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, and a nice 3,500 mAh battery.

If you are a new line porting into Metro, you can get the LG Stylo 5 absolutely free! If you are a current customer or simply adding a new line without a port, you will pay $239, which isn’t too bad if a large phone with a Stylus is something you are wanting.

Is it better than the Stylo 4?

Honestly, the specs are almost exactly the same compared to the LG Stylo 4, however, there are two upgrades you will get with the Stylo 5 over the Stylo 4. First, when you get the Stylo 5, you will get the newest software with Android 9.0. The Stylo 5 battery is also 200 mAh larger than the battery found in the Stylo 4.

The Stylo 4 can be found pretty cheap on eBay, but sadly, the LG Stylo 4 is still on Android oreo and we still aren’t sure if it will get the Android pie upgrade. Some websites have speculated that it may release late this year, but there is no evidence to this. Previous LG Stylo phones didn’t receive an OS update, so I don’t expect an update for the LG Stylo 4 either.

This makes the LG Stylo 5 a good buy for some people. Many people prefer larger phones and the Stylo 5 has a 6.2″ display, and it is really one of the only options at this price point if you want a stylus.

The LG Stylo 5 is currently available at Sprint and Cricket as well, so if you are eager to pick it up, feel free to drop into a store!
