It’s time to find a good deal
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of $1,000 smartphones! Think about it: the price of a flagship smartphone used to be around $650 just a few years ago, and now we have flagship smartphones over $1,000.
We also have foldable smartphones that are soon to release, and most of them will release with price tags around $2,000.
As excited as tech fans are to find the latest tech, I’m more excited to find the greatest deal.
LG phones are a very good value
For many people, they just don’t think to get an LG smartphone. People think of Apple or Samsung first. Others perhaps would rather have a phone from Google or Motorola. LG phones are starting to become very overlooked.
This isn’t without a good reason of course. LG phones are notorious for taking a longer time to receive software updates, and there were a few phones in the past that had some rough issues with boot-looping (like the LG G4 and the LG V10). With a few smartphones with issues, people ran away from LG. In the meantime, LG produced some very nice smartphones. The LG G6, G7, and G8 have all been very good smartphones.
This leads me to my current point: you should take advantage of the fact that LG smartphones are overlooked. As LG phones have become more overlooked, their prices have dropped.
I can’t tell you why LG doesn’t just drop their prices when their phones first release, but I can tell you that shortly after release the value of LG phones drops significantly.
The LG G7…ThinQ?
Take the LG G7 for example. It released with a rather odd name: the LG G7 ThinQ, and very little fanfare. But the LG G7 only released a little over a year ago. It has a Snapdragon 845 processor, making it one of the fastest smartphones out today. Sure, the Snapdragon 855 is faster, but we are talking very minor differences in speed. The G7 also has a great display, 4 GB of RAM, water resistance, and more!
Despite the G7 being a great phone, the value of the G7 has plummeted online.
As of today, you can get a phone with, essentially, the third-fastest processor that Android has to offer, for only $150.
The LG G7 is a better phone, in my opinion, than the Google Pixel 3a, that currently retails for $400. If you aren’t familiar with LG, one fact that might help you, is that the LG G7 is a comparable phone to the Samsung Galaxy S9.
The LG G8 is dropping in value quickly too
The LG G8 released with some cool features, but for some reason tech reviewers reviewed the LG G8 poorly. This was mainly due to some fancy hand gestures not working. Seriously, these gestures can be turned off, and when you take the negative feedback about gestures away, the LG G8 got some decent praise as a very good smartphone.
Despite this, the LG G8 has dropped as low as $499 new within recent months, and I have seen the LG G8 as low as $394 used.
This trend isn’t new. I was able to snag the LG G6 for a super low price two years ago.
LG phones drop in value quickly
Take it from me, LG phones drop in value very quickly. This means that LG phones are a great opportunity for people like me who are trying to find a great deal.
This might be controversial, but I believe the LG G7 will give you 90% of the phone that you will get with the Galaxy S10, for only 20% of the price. The camera is good, not great. The battery life is good, not great. Outside of those two things, the LG G7 will give you a great display and fantastic performance for a very small price.
