The Details/Fine Print

Amazon has the 64GB 4GB model for this price as well, which is a great deal! It does come with a few Amazon apps preinstalled, but it is well worth it for the specs! Best Buy has some complicated ways to get the phone for a little cheaper (explained below), but after the activation fee, it ends up being very close to the same price as this model, except this model has more RAM and more storage. Honestly, this is the best “bang for your buck” between the three retailers listed.

With Best Buy, if you are willing to activate this unlocked phone right away with AT&T or Verizon, you can get this phone for $129.99. If you get this phone with Sprint, you can even get it as low as $79.99! Keep in mind that your carrier may charge you an activation fee, but it is worth a little extra work if you’re with a big carrier! 3GB of RAM will be good enough for most people, so if you are with Sprint, or if you can find a way to waive activation fees, this is a good way to go.

Walmart has this phone for the normal $179.99 deal for the 3GB version, so it is still an option if you love to shop at Walmart.

Not everyone wants to pay even $300 or $400 for a smartphone. Many people are content with buying a Samsung j3 or a smartphone for under $50.

Who Is This Deal NOT For?

If you are used to using $800 phones and you are considering downgrading, maybe a phone like the Google Pixel 3a would be a better fit for you. There are some great deals out there, currently, the Google Pixel 3a comes with a free Google Home Mini if you purchase it at Best Buy.

If you are looking to upgrade from a Samsung Galaxy S8 or a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, this phone is not for you. If you are looking for a better phone than the Moto G7 or G7 Power, you will also be disappointed, as the newer models are faster and feature other minor improvements. With that being said, this is a GREAT option for many people, and this is a great deal to take advantage of, at least for some people.

Who Is This Deal For?

Let me just say that I understand being budget conscious, and I understand not spending a lot of money on a smartphone. In my opinion, this deal is a great deal for someone who typically spends between $50 and $200 on a smartphone. This deal is a GREAT option for prepaid users because this phone is unlocked and works with any carrier, including any carrier using Verizon towers.

I have found that many prepaid users and people who buy phones for under $100 don’t truly realize what they are missing. They have to wait several seconds for apps to load, their apps frequently force close, they have to click things four times and hope the clicks register, etc. These are all big issues that people face when they spend so little on a smartphone.

But a phone is a device most of us use every day, and just spending a little over $100 can get you a great phone you will like for a long time. If you are a smartphone user that just wants a good reliable phone with a decent screen and decent speed for a decent price, this is a good option. If you previously bought a Samsung Galaxy J7 or a Samsung Galaxy J3, you will find this device is a great upgrade. This device would also be a great upgrade over phones in the Moto E series.

Specs and Impressions

The Moto G6 comes with a Snapdragon 450, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It also comes with USB-C fast charging, but it does not have NFC for Google Pay. As someone who has owned a Moto G6, I can tell you that it is a good option. It has similar speeds to phones like the Moto X4, the HTC U11 Life, and the LG Stylo 4. In fact, this phone has the same exact processor as the LG Stylo 4 (normally priced at $249.99), so for $80 cheaper than the Stylo 4 you can get the same amount of RAM and the same processor packed into a phone that will actually fit into your hand for one-handed use.

Compared to phones like the LG Stylo 3 or the LG Stylo 3 Plus, the Moto G6 was a welcome upgrade for me. Having 3GB of RAM is a big plus compared to older mid-range models that only have 2GB of RAM.
